HJSplit

Often the files you want to share are too big to be sent. Other times the files received are in parts and do not have the .rar o .zip extension. Many of them have been divided into small parts to reduce their size in order to be sent. This is the case of avi.001, avi.002, rar.001, rar.002, type files and all which end with the extension or format *.001, *.002, etc. The programme that has been used for them and which can join them back together again is HJSplit.

This programme is a small application with a minimalist design which has four functions: cut, paste, compare and checksum (it detects accidental changes in a sequence of data to protect its integrity and to verify that there are no discrepancies).

HJSplit can divide any kind of file into predefined sizes (en KB o MB). The'compare' function is very basic and is good for knowing if two selected files have the same length or not. The Cheksum function calculates and allows you to copy the MD5 control sum of any file that has been introduced.

This efficient utility uses few resources and does not need to be installed, it is enough to just click twice on the executable file. Therefore, you will be able to save it in any external device and use it when you most need it. HJSplit is, without doubt, a good alternative to compression tools.
