The brain.cards app was designed to mimic real-world flashcards. All the app's functionality sits within the same screen. The app doesn't have any buttons. The UI is very interactive, but simple at the same time. The flashcards are 3D modeled to resemble real ones. Each side of the card has a different color. Light blue helps attention, while light yellow stimulates retention. Color coding helps to increase the learning effectiveness, while minimizing the time spent.
Unlike other flashcard apps brain.cards has only one study mode that is activate by default. The study mode is powered by a proprietary machine-learning algorithm, that can predict how likely it is that a user knows the card. It does so by recognizing patterns in the app usage.
There is no need to organize and curate the content that is being created. The app mimics human memory. People remember things on various subjects all the time and they can recall it quickly. Over time the algorithm adjusts automatically to each user's pace of learning, increasing the learning effectiveness.
The brain.cards app currently runs on Android. The development team designed the app, so that it works on most Android devices globally, including low-end smartphones. The app is classified as freeware and does not require an Internet connection to run.
